Afghan Girl

This was my first time drawing a full sized A3 paper and also my first time using a new kind of paper. Canson Bristol paper has very smooth surface which I loved working on, it felt easier to handle the shading on it than on my previous sketch paper. I also felt I could add more detail with this paper.

This reference pic is a very striking and famous image, I think the immediate focus of the image is obviously her piercing and haunting eyes. That was the most important thing I wanted to capture. But then I gave just as much care and time to all the other parts of the image because i really wanted take my "photo realism style" one step further.
I always try to push myself with each drawing and hopefully you can see that in my work.

Tools: a tortillion/stompfer for shading, white rubber eraser.
Paper: Canson Bristol A3
